It's most likely a cold injury or "leaf scorching," caused by insufficient water transport to the leaves. Give your tree a lot of water during dry periods, and check for possible root damage.
On average, most lawns need about one inch of water per week. Naturally, when temperatures rise the grass will need more water. Organic soils generally require less water than sandy soils. The length of the grass blade, temperature, shade, evaporation and wind are all factors in determining just what your lawn needs.
